Made of sugar and spice and everything nice, she ain’t.

So, this is where we are HBO?

It’s all come down to this?

Eight years of our lives and religious allegiance to what, up until the last two episodes could arguably position Game Of Thrones as the greatest television show of all time, all winds down to that debacle we all witnessed last night?

Now, I know what I saw, but I have no clue who that hellbent hellion was on that hell breathing dragon Sunday evening.

Because Queen Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lady of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, Lady of Dragonstone, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons, if she was being true to herself, (or being true to her millions of fans, notwithstanding, would not go off or go out like that.)

Not hardly.

Not now.

Not after everything she has been through.

Not after everything she has put us through.

Not her.

Not this.

Not now.

Not ever.

And yet – she did.

After championing the weak and freeing the enslaved.

After mourning the loss of her husband and decrying the injustice in the world all around her.

After making us believe that she would bring light after the dark night and the long winter of The Great War to an end.

She went stark raving mad and unleashed all holy hell in the name of revenge and bad will, destroying the weak in the valley of the darkness.

For she truly was her subject’s keeper who struck down upon them with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy her rightful position on the throne of the seven kingdoms.

But I don’t blame her.

I blame the writers of the show who have given us a new appreciation for exceptional writing who for some reason decided to  make that all null and void and instead chose to take the easy way out by going for the low hanging fruit and appealing to the baser instincts of the lowest common denominator of viewing expectations.

If I didn’t know better I would swear up and down last night was brought to us by none other than King Michaelrys Bayborn of the House Mediocregaryen, the First of His Name, King of the Pyromaniacs, the Pyrotechnics and the Film Manglers, Lord of the Unjustified Sequel Bound Silver Screenings and Protector of the Box Office, Lord of Hackingstone, King of Smeareen, AlanSmitheeleesi of the Great Crass Sea, the Unlearnt, Jumper of Sharks and Father of Paper Dragons.

Now all that is left is to see how you will further insult the intelligence of your loyal fan base.

We deserve better.

George R.R. Martin sure as hell deserves better.
